Ronald W. Adams, age 74, of Taunton, formerly of Attleboro, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Taunton Nursing home in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Sheila R. Cooney, to whom he was wed for sixteen years.
Born in Leominster, MA on May 30, 1944, he was a loving son of the late Ralph W. Adams and Marjorie B. (Dietz) Gardner.
Ron grew up in Harvard and was a 1962 graduate of Bromfield High School in Harvard. He proudly served his country for four years a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
A resident of Taunton for the past fifteen years, Mr. Adams had been employed as a security officer for the Pinkerton Agency at Hasbro Industries in Pawtucket for many years.
Ron loved spending time amongst family and friends. His favorite hobby was taking care of horses and had worked as a stable and barn assistant at Royal Oaks Stables in Rehoboth.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Jennifer Adams and her husband Hoxie of Rhode Island, Lisa O’Donnell and her husband Russell of North Carolina, Janice Davis and her husband Thomas of Attleboro and Kristin Adams of Attleboro. He was the brother of Russell Adams and his wife Starleen of North Carolina, and is also survived by 9 grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside service with military honors on Saturday, December 22nd at 1:00 P.M. at the Shepardville Cemetery, Taunton St. (Route 152) in Plainville.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronald’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
