Obituary

Worcester: Maria Luisa (Parisi) Bernier, 89, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus. She leaves her husband William E. Bernier; her two sons, Mark and Gary Bernier, their wives Annie Swain and Leslie Nelson-Bernier, and her grandchildren, Evan, Alexander, Nicholas and Hope.

"Mitzi" , as she was affectionately known, was born in Tripoli, Libya, raised in Naples, Italy and was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Isabella (Greco) Parisi. She dedicated her life to her family and was passionately committed to service, working not only with individuals and families but also with many organizations. Having traveled and lived across three continents, Mitzi became a fantastic cook, loved to feed friends and family, and had a deep appreciation for those in need. Mitzi loved everyone, no matter who they were or where they came from, and her good work was felt across the globe and will continue to be felt for many years to come. She was an active member of St. Michaels on the Heights Church and several of its committees.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels on the Heights Church 340 Burncoat St. Worcester, MA 01606. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mitzi's memory may be made to St Michael’s for a small home for the disabled, Ville de le Rose, to which Mitzi was very dedicated.
