Obituary

WORCESTER__Barbara G. (Goldfader) Bauman New, 85, of Worcester died on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center due to chronic kidney failure. Barbara was born in Worcester the daughter of Emanuel and Marion (Cohen) Goldfader. She leaves her loving husband Reverend Kenneth M. New and her four children, daughters Karol Papagni and her husband Pasquale of Worcester, Susan Gilligan and her husband David of Auburn and sons Steven Bauman and his wife Linda of Port Charlotte, FL, and Arnold Bauman of Cumberland, Rhode Island. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren and her grand-dog Buddy. She was predeceased by her brothers, Morton, Sidney and Edward Goldfader and a deceased grandson, Geoffrey Bauman.

Barbara retired as an administrative secretary to Dean Maquire at the College of the Holy Cross. Prior to working there she was employed by the Marriott Corp. and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette where she made many lifelong friends. In her retirement Barbara enjoyed sharing stories and photos on Facebook, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family whether it was at cookouts, or on Thanksgiving or Christmas. Barbara also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots games. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the staff of the Jewish Healthcare Hospice for the care given to Barbara.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family on Thursday, December 20th, 2018 at DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester. Calling hours are from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the funeral home with a service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave., Worcester, Ma ., 01606 or to Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 646 Salisbury St., Worcester, Ma., 01609.
