Obituary

Melvin A. Berger “Mel” of Natick, died at the age of 91 on Friday, December 14, 2018 leaving his loving and devoted family; his wife Carol, daughter Suzanne and her husband George Vlahos and, son Roger and his wife Meredith Cammaker. Cherished grandchildren Alexia, Emily, Matthew and Andrew, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Ethel Berger and sisters, Ruth Greenwold, and Esther Bloom. Mel served in the Navy following WWII, and he grew up an avid Boston sports fan. Mel earned degrees in engineering from Tufts and Northeastern Universities. Mel will always be remembered for his love of his family and friends and his sense of humor and great smile! Mel worked for many years at Analog Devices. During his tenure there, he had many opportunities to develop both professional and personal relationships with great people all over the world including Europe & Asia, particularly his close friend and business associate Albert Phuay of Singapore. Mel enjoyed music, reading, playing tennis (he was even captain of the Tuft’s Tennis Team), hiking around Lake Waban where he also kayaked, painted and sketched. He loved the Maine Lakes; visiting Quisisana at Kezar Lake in Lovell and spending time with family at Long Lake in Bridgton. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and we will all miss him dearly.
Special thanks goes to the amazing and loving care at Carriage House at Lee’s Farm and the Special Angels from Roxana’s team and the Hospice services at Good Shepherd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LungStrong: https://www.lungstrong.org/
