Virginia M. (Girard) Titus, age 94, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on Friday, December 14, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard T. Titus, who died on August 17, 1999.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 20, 1924, she was a loving daughter of the late Clayton W., Sr. and Josephine (Dolan) Girard.
Ginny grew up in Attleboro Falls and was educated in Attleboro schools. A Mansfield resident for the past seventy years, she was a retired assembler having worked for the Foxboro Co. and previously was employed at Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Ginny loved spending time with her family, gardening and was an active member of the Mansfield Senior Center.
She is survived by her devoted children: Michael T. Titus and his wife Meredith Bennett Titus of Foxboro, John Titus and his wife Debbie of Vassalboro, Maine, Joseph C. Titus of Norton and Kathleen M. Vickery of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Gerald Girard, Clayton “Bud” Girard and Gloria Marone. She is also survived by her cherished 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Wednesday, December 19th at 10:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 18th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
