Obituary

Willem “Wim” Fredrik Siedenburg (age 85) of Simi Valley, California
passed away peacefully in his home on December 14, 2018. He was
surrounded by his family who loved him very much. Willem was born in
Indonesia on June 15, 1933. Willem was born to Clara and Willem Albert
Siedenburg in Subang, Indonesia. His mother passed away in the internment
camps during World War II where the family were held in Indonesia. After
the War, his father William Albert returned to the Netherlands and rebuilt
his life there and later settled in the city of Heel where he bought a home.
My dad was an only child and served in both the Dutch and American
military. He was proud of this accomplishment. He received his high
school certificate here in America because he could not get his education
when he was held in the camps. He worked diligently for Lockheed before
becoming a bus operator and then supervisor for the MTA. He retired from
the MTA and earned a Certificate of Merit for Going Above and Beyond the
Call of Duty. My father was very proud of this accomplishment. My father
loved his family and always provided us with a stable and comfortable
home. Dad enjoyed History, Art, Photography, Automobiles, and Aviation.
He learned to fly and was very proud to call himself a pilot. I believe that
my dad is soaring now and flying happily with his parents.

Willem is survived by our beautiful mother Josephine “Fiene” and all of
their children. My mama took care of my papa until the day that he died and
we thank you mama for letting him stay in his home. Their first born
daughter is Bianca and (Bob) Siedenburg-Hicks of Thousand Oaks, second
born daughter is Sandra Siedenburg and her precious children Nicolette
Chantal Siedenburg and Katianna Hope Siedenburg of Stallion Springs, third
born and most kind son is William (Melodie) Mario Siedenburg and their
beautiful girls Natasha Siedenburg-Rodriguez and Ariel Siedenburg of
Palmdale, and finally the baby of our family Yvette Nicole Siedenburg and
her lovely girls Rhiannon Monique Siedenburg and Saoirse Simone
Siedenburg of Simi Valley. Opa loved all of his children and grandchildren
and tried his best for them and we thank him for helping us. He has two
great-grandchildren Zella from granddaughter Ariel and baby Mia from
granddaughter Nicolette who is being born in Oregon as this is written. In
lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the homeless and poor
who struggle every day to maintain some semblance of dignity. The family
wishes to extend their gratitude to Kaiser and Vitas Hospice especially
Edgar for bathing my dad so gently.
