Ruth M. (O'Neill) Arsenault, of Woburn formerly of Hyannis, passed away peacefully, December 13, 2018. She 91 years of age. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Philip H. Arsenault. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late James W. and Ruth E. (Stone) O'Neill.
Ruth was raised and educated in Charlestown. She worked for many years prior to her retirement as a secretary, first in the Banking industry and later also worked in the Wilmington Public School System and at the Shawsheen Valley Regional Technical Vocational High School. Aside from her family, one of Ruth's greatest joys was her strong faith. She was a devout Catholic, taught Catholicism and was a member of the Third Order of Lay Carmelites. Over the years she enjoyed traveling and pilgrimages to different Holy sites all over the world. She also enjoyed music, musical productions and was active for many years with the Mishawum Choral Society and Victrola Society of Hyannis.
She is survived by her children; Philip A. Arsenault and his wife Margaret J. Mehm of Winchester, James A. Arsenault and his wife Suthanma of Hoboken, NJ. She was the loving grandmother of Pauline, James, Peter and Elizabeth Arsenault. Sister of the late James W. O'Neill, Jr. and his surviving wife Wanda of Lynnfield.
Funeral Services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday, December 20th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, from 3 to 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to Beaverbrook Step Inc., 85 Main St., 2nd floor, Watertown, MA 02472.
