Obituary

RUTLAND-Joan A. (Hanlon) Houston, 64, of 17 Autumn Woods Drive, died Saturday, December 17th in Saint Vincent Hospital. She leaves a daughter; Denise wife of Scott Breisinger of Clairton, PA, 3 brothers; Joseph D. Hanlon, Jr. and his wife Alice Hanlon of Union, NJ, Thomas F. and his wife Joann Hanlon of South Bend, IN and John J. and his wife Elizabeth Hanlon of Holden, a sister; Mary C. Topor of Worcester, 3 grandchildren; Logan, Ryan and Christian, many nephews and nieces and many great nephews and nieces. Her brother-in-law; Joseph R. Topor predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph D. and Beatrice M. (LaLiberte) Hanlon and graduated from Auburn High School. Ms. Houston was employed by G.F. Wright Steel and Wire Company where she worked as a purchasing agent for 30 years until retirement. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and loved her 2 cats, Bahama and Bermuda. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Her family wishes to express gratitude to her new neighbors in Rutland.

The funeral is Wednesday, December 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 20th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346 or Monastery of the Mother of God, 1430 Riverdale Street, W. Springfield, MA 01089.
