WORCESTER___Jean A. Sullivan, 82, died Sunday Dec 9, 2018 at UMASS Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Jean, the daughter of John and Eva Murphy was born on August 25, 1936. Besides her parents Jean was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Mobayed. Following graduation from Commerce High School Jean was employed at Travelers Insurance Co. On June 21, 1958 Jean married Joseph Sullivan, Jr, at Ascension Church in Worcester and celebrated sixty years of marriage in June 2018.
Jean was known for her life-long unconditional love of family and her loyal friendship. Besides her husband Joe, Jean will be missed by her son, Michael and his wife Diane, her daughter Kathleen as well as her grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Meaghan, Caitlin, Patrick, Sean, Ryan and Meghan and her great-granddaughters, Abigail and Alianna. Jean also leaves her sister-in-law and very special friend, Sr. Julia Sullivan, S.S.J. Jean enjoyed summers at Hampton beach, N.H., and it was not uncommon to find her and a circle of friends on the beach that over time grew to include children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Thursday Dec. 13, 2018 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday Dec. 12, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
