In Fall River, Joseph H. Cambra, age 90, passed away on December 2, 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Joseph was pre deceased by his wife Phyllis (Pittsley) Cambra. He was born in Providence, RI and had resided in Assonet his entire life. Joseph attended Fall River schools and was a graduate of Durfee High School. He was employed for the former St. Yve’s Nissan Dealership in Berkley for 40 years and following that worked for Mastria Nissan in Raynham until the age of 86. Joseph was the former Freetown Animal Inspector, he enjoyed his vegetable garden, raising chickens, his career working in the auto industry, watching Boston sports, managed a local band during the 1970's named the "Leaves of Spring" and above all the time spent with his family. Joseph leaves his children, Ronald Cambra and his wife Katherine of FL., Janet Ponte of New Bedford, Kathryn Cruz and her husband Thomas Nelson of Assonet, Susan Schader and husband Michael of Assonet and Betsy Moquin and her husband James of PA and the late Marjorie Diaz. He also leaves his 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and his aunt, Sadie Cambra of Assonet. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, December 15th from 1-3pm. A private burial will follow at Assonet Burial Grounds in Assonet.
