Obituary

Whitman – Laura A. (Benoit) Cribben 85, a longtime resident of Whitman, died unexpectedly Saturday December 8. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Cribben.

Born and raised in Rockland she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Tessa (Richard) Benoit. She later moved to Hanson and was a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1951.

In 1956 she married Thomas and together they moved to Whitman, where she remained and raised her family.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, always willing to share her treats with family and friends. She loved embroidering; watching the birds in her yard and her “teddy bears”, but her greatest joy was her cats Buster and Buddy and spending time with her cherished family.

She is survived by her children Thomas J. Cribben, Jr and his wife Bonnie of Plymouth and Kathleen Cribben of Whitman, her siblings Richard Benoit of MD, Charles Benoit of NC, Gerald Benoit of FL and Rosemary Sampson of Hanson and her grandchildren Alyssa, Joachim and Joshua as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph and her sister Arlene.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday December 13 at 7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 PM.
