SWANSEA – Dorothy E. (Miranda) Camara, age 83 of Swansea, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at the Somerset Ridge Center with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Laurence M. Camara and the daughter of the late Manuel and Helena (Botelho) Miranda. Prior to retiring, Dorothy worked for the former Anderson Little Co. as a seamstress.
Dorothy was a parishioner of St. John of God Church, and loved to sew, cook, travel, and do arts & crafts. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides her husband of Swansea, Dorothy is survived by her three sons: David & Maureen Camara and William & Jeanne Camara all of Somerset, Bruce Camara & Teresa Arruda of Dartmouth; grandchildren: Jennifer, Michelle, Katelan, Lauren, William, & Alexandra; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Morgado & Gilbert Miranda.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday, Dec. 10th here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on Sunday, Dec. 9th from 4-7 P.M.
