Richard Patrick Papa, Sr. of East Somerville died on Tuesday, December 4. Born and raised in Boston's West End, he was the son of the late Luciano D. and Josephine (Ardollino) Papa. Richard worked in the trucking industry and was a resident of East Somerville for 45 years.
He was the husband of Janice (Tibbetts) Papa, and the devoted father of Richard Patrick Papa Jr. of East Somerville, Jeannemarie McCormack and her husband Vincent of Winchester, and Paul James Papa of East Somerville. Richard was the loving grandfather of Kristyn and Andrew McCormack of Winchester, Joshua Mathew Papa of Tewksbury, and the late Richard Patrick Papa III. He was the dear brother of Robert Papa of Somerville and his late wife Rita, Raymond Papa of Palm Beach, Florida, and the late Ralph Papa, Palmy LiGiouri, and Ronald Papa. Richard is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, December 8, at 3 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 12 noon through 3 PM. Interment will be private.
