Obituary

John Wesley Perry, 79, of Milford for the past 28 years, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving family, wife Jeannine Gaston, son Tramaine McNeill of Milford, grandchildren, Tyreke and Janiyah, his siblings, Jean Wilder, Thomas Earl Perry, Catherine Perry, Lonnie Perry and Yvonne Perry and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings.

Born in Washington, NC on September 4, 1939, he was a son of the late John Anthony and Catherine (Clark) Perry. His family moved to Boston where he attended Boston public schools and Wentworth Institute.

One of his favorite places was Maplegate Country Club. He spent endless hours doing what he loved playing golf. He instilled an appreciation for the game in the young children in the family, a 20 minute putting lesson for children 8 and under with attention waning waiting to strike the ball was challenging for everyone. But there was great love for his teaching and sharing time together in another favorite place Myrtle Beach.

Cooking, another passion, not every wife gets to give the gift that keeps on giving: pots and pans; he would pore through the papers for recipes. Newspapers from all over the US were part of his routine including Golf magazine.

The church community was a part of his life; dinners in Croswell Hall, sometimes Sunday worship and time spent as the Jr. Warden at Christ Church.

John was employed with technical companies; his last job from which he retired was at Logan International Airport - Massport. A proud work related moment was John’s appearance on the cover of IBM’s publication, Think Magazine during the late 70’s - 80’s. It would be a gift to have this publication again since it was misplaced in a move to Milford.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Christ Episcopal Church, 14 School St., Medway on Saturday, December 8 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Milford.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
