Mr. Omer Bourgeois, 86, of Methuen passed away Monday, December 3rd at Mary Immaculate Restorative Center. He was born on June 30, 1932 in Lac-au-Saumon, Quebec. Omer and his family immigrated from Canada to the United States in 1964. He worked as a mason in the Merrimack Valley and Western Massachusetts. Omer was a life-long member and past Vice President of the Social Naturalization Club (The French Social) of Lawrence and Methuen and the Knights of Columbus in Canada. He is the widower of Monique (Sylvestre) Bourgeois and was also pre-deceased by his brothers Real, Andre and Maurice Bourgeois, all of Canada. He is survived by his five children: Nicole Panek of Morris, NY; Michael Bourgeois and his wife Tammy of Methuen, MA; Jacques Bourgeois of Ontario, Canada; Sylvie Boucino of South Hadley, MA; and Nancy Roux of Granby, MA, along with his two sisters Gilberte Dompierre and Evelyn LeFebvre, both of Canada. He had nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His extended family includes the Noel family and Jean Family, with a very special thank you to Denise Afonso.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd. Dracut, MA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at Racicot Funeral Home at 12:00 pm; burial will be in Canada at a future date.
