Verna Evelyn Pettett of Tifton died Saturday, December 17, 2005, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at New River Baptist Church Cemetery with burial to follow. Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson until the hour of services.
Ms. Pettett was born July 17, 1917, in Gordon County, GA to Melvin Decater and Leila Noblett Pettett, both deceased. She was disabled and of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Pettett is survived by two brothers: Luther Pettett of Brookfield and John Henry Pettett of Seattle, WA and one sister Lucile Pettett of Tifton.
