Eric J. Samowski, 46, of Whitman, passed away on Sunday December 2nd in the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Diana M. Woodbury and the late Joseph Samowski.
He was born in Weymouth, brought up in Whitman and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson, Class of 1990 also a graduate of MA Firefighter Academy. Eric also attended Massachusetts Community College. He worked as a paramedic for CCT, FEMA, and American Medical Response. He also was a call fireman for Whitman.
Eric enjoyed wood carving, especially whales, sharks and sea life, a sportsman in hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He also loved NASCAR, Patriots, Red Sox and the Bruins. He had many friends in his life, who became family to him and he was dedicated to helping others in need.
In addition to his mother Diana, he survived by his aunt and godmother Dianne Lalli and her husband Edward of Bridgewater, uncle and godfather David Woodbury and his wife Sandra of Sandwich, his cousins Bryan & David Woodbury, Edward Lalli,III and Judy Lalli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Thursday December 6th from 6:00-8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
