Obituary

Mary (Michaels) Segreve died suddenly on December 2. She was sixty three years old.

Mary was born with severe excema which required her to wear splints on her arms and legs to prevent her from scratching herself. Although Mary had many health concerns, she didn’t let them stop her from enjoying her life. She was “quite the character” and often said exactly what was on her mind. Mary loved being at White Horse Beach in Plymouth, playing the guitar and singing for the family. She earned a degree in social work from Bridgewater State College late in life. This degree enabled Mary to take care of older people with Alzheimer’s disease. Her sense of humor made her a welcome sight to these patients. Nothing in Mary’s life made her happier than giving birth to her son, Sean, when she was thirty-six years old. Married to her husband, Richard Segreve for 34 years they enjoyed numerous vacation stays at Vero Beach in Florida.

Mary is survived by her mother, Mary Michaels, from Jamaica Plain and presently living in Florida; her daughter, Cristin O’Connell, of Milton; her sisters, Theresa Rogers of Milford, N.H. and Eileen Michaels of Watertown, Ma. Mary’s father Harold Michaels and brother, John Michaels preceded her death. Mary has many cousins, in-laws and other friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to Rosie’s Place, 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, Ma.
