Obituary

Earl Franklin Alger, 95, passed into the presence of Jesus with his loving family surrounding him, December 1, 2018 at Providence after an extended illness.
He was born August 31, 1923 in Anderson, to William Frank and Mabel Alger. Earl graduated from Anderson High School in 1941.
He was a United States Army Air force veteran having served from 1943 to 1946.
He was a bartender in the Anderson area for almost 60 years. He was a life member of American Legion Post # 127 and Elks Lodge # 209.
He was married to the love of his life for 76 years, Dorothy June (Simpson) Alger who survives.
He was so proud of and dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He always had a hug, kiss and a joke for each of them, including his four children, David Alger, Dean (Marianne) Alger, Susan (Steve) Erehart, Doug (Laura) Alger; nine grand children, and nine great grandchildren.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Earl's life in their own way; raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate.
Thank you Lord for his time here with us. We release him into your loving arms, Lord, until we see him again. He will be missed. Heaven has a new bartender.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Forrest Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to Life Stream Services.
