WEBSTER – Wanda N. “Nellie” (Nowakowski) Sczepanski, 97, of 310 Thompson Road, died Thursday, Dec. 15, in Webster Manor after a short illness. Her husband, Anthony Sczepanski, died in 1980.
She leaves many nephews and nieces, including Sandra Gagnon on Thompson, Beverly Sanchez of West Covina, CA, Edward Brezniak of Mobile, AL, and Cynthia Belovich of Dudley; grand- nephews and grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marcia in 2003 and by her siblings Sigmund, Theodore and Chester Nowakowski and Helen Brezniak.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of Stanislaus and Mary (Andrzejewski) Nowakowski. She
lived here all of her life.
Mrs. Sczepanski was the treasurer of the Middlesex Casket Company for many years before retiring in 1972.
She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica. Dining out, traveling and gardening were some of her favorite things. She would often treat her friends to dinner out. Trying a new restaurant was always a delight. She traveled both here and abroad and enjoyed many winters in Palm Springs, CA with her daughter. Gardening was a relaxation and many happy hours were spent maintaining a beautiful yard and garden.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the funeral home.
