Jeannette L. Couture, 89 died peacefully on November 29, 2018 at Villa Crest Retirement Community following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on July 28, 1929 the daughter of Ulderic and Florida (Provencher) Halde. Jeannette is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Albert E. Couture Jr. on May 1, 2017, and her sister Lorraine A. (Halde) Garcia on December 6, 1993.
Family members include her daughter Suzanne and husband Maurice Desmarais, Hershey PA; daughter Diane and husband Thomas Cross, Ashland, NY; son, Robert and wife Linda Couture, Goffstown NH; daughter Michelle Harrington, Goffstown NH, and son Denis Couture, Hooksett NH. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family.
A lifelong resident of Manchester, Jeannette graduated from St. George’s High School. She was an office worker at New England Telephone Company, Grand Union Champagne’s Supermarket and Wayne’s Glass. Jeannette was also the secretary for St. Augustin’s Parish and Cemetery for almost 50 years.
Jeannette was an avid bingo player. She worked for St. Augustin's Bingo for many years and played at various community bingo halls throughout Manchester for more than 60 years. She was known for her sense of humor, her big smile and her ability to “strike up a conversation” with everyone she met.
Calling hours are scheduled from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, S. Elm St.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, S. Beech St.
