Obituary

NATICK-Harold “Hal” J. Powers, Esq., 70, of 32 Russell Circle died Friday, December 16th in the VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Campus. His wife of 38 years, Joan (Stowell) Powers died in 2004. He leaves 2 sons; H. John Powers of Ashland and Craig W. Bernabei of Newton, 2 daughters; Melinda McDowell of Hopkinton and Susan Vent of St. Louis, MO, 6 grandchildren; Sarah and Craig Bernabei, Corey and Eric Vent and Emily and Matthew McDowell.

He was born in Boston the son of John and Marcella (Bowe) Powers. Mr. Powers was a graduate of Westford Academy, Boston University and later Suffolk Law School where he earned his Doctorate of Law. He had been a practicing attorney for 40 years, retiring in 2000. Mr. Powers served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and as a member of the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon at the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC (8th & I). He had a passion for sailing and was an active member of the Portsmouth Yacht Club in New Hampshire.

The funeral is Tuesday, December 20th, at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, December 19th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
