New Bedford - Jonathan M. Britto passed away on Nov. 21, 2018 at Savoy Nursing Home from complications due to Huntington's Disease. He was 60 years old. He was the son of the late Claire N. Britto and the late Francis P. Britto.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford he attended New Bedford High and got his GED in 1979. He spent four years in the National Guard before being honorably discharged. He was last employed as a baker and assistant manager at Dunkin Donuts on Mt. Pleasant ST. He refereed basketball games at the CYO and umpired baseball games with NBYAA.
He is survived by two brothers and six sisters. Jeffrey Britto and his wife Tracy & Everett Britto of N. Carolina, Jacqueline Toles and her husband Roscoe of Illinois, Geraldine Shulterbrandt and her husband Theodore & Francesca Bergantim and her husband Louis of New Bedford, Melanie Marcotte and her husband Roger of S. Dartmouth, Jennifer Britto of N. Carolina, Jessica Britto and her boyfriend Gregory Ferland of Fall River, He was the brother of the late Edward F. Britto. He is survived by one aunt, Joyce Baptista and her husband Paul of New Bedford, 13 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, 1 great- great niece and numerous cousins.
In accordance with Jonathan’s wishes he was cremated. Visiting hours along with a memorial service, to which family and friends are invited to, will take place on Friday evening, December 14th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home.
