Donald Heim, 82

Dateline: Norton, MA

Donald Heim, age 82, of Norton, formerly of Roslindale, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn B. (Chubbuck-Hall) Heim and the adoring son-in-law of Marie Mastro of Norton.

Born in Boston, MA on March 10, 1936, he was a loving son of the late Jacob H. and Charlotte (Hayes) Heim.

Don grew up in the South End of Boston, was a graduate of Boston Trade High School and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

Mr. Heim was a retired union plumber and was a sixty-one-year member of the Local 12 Plumbers Union in Boston. He had made his home in Norton for the past twenty-two years and previously resided in Roslindale.

Don’s favorite times were those spent with his treasured family. He enjoyed reading and was very knowledgeable on the subject of American History.

In addition to his loving wife and mother-in-law, he is survived by his devoted children: David Heim and his wife Linda of Roslindale, Richard Heim and his wife Martha of West Roxbury, Eric Heim and his wife Amy of Natick, Jennifer Hall of Brockton, William Hall and his wife Annie of Taunton and the late Joseph Hall, IV of Norton who recently passed away on July 26, 2018. He was the dear brother of Jacqueline Richardson of Centerville, Carol Tierney of Rumford, RI, Ronald Heim of Norfolk, and the late Jacob Heim, Evelyn Decker and Barbara Castelli. He was the cherished grandfather of Andrew and his wife Hannah, Olivia, Giovanna, Dillon, Joseph, Therése, Aiden, Shannon, Sophia and Alessandra, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Friday, November 30th at 8:45 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Military honors will be held at the conclusion of services, with cremation to follow.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers. Donald’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society, care of, Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton, MA 02766.
