Obituary
Mr. Fortier died Sunday at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a lengthy illness. He was born in Worcester son of the late Peter P. and Ethel M. (Stearnes) Fortier and was raised and educated in Brockton.
During WW II he served in the US Army Air Corps 27th Bombardment Squadron in the Pacific Theater.Mr. Fortier retired from the Merriman Corp. as a gear machinist. Previously he worked at Bird & Sons in Norwood and Union Coal in Brockton.He enjoyed bowling.
Mr. Fortier is survived by 5 sons Kevin J. Fortier of Franklin; Herbert P. “Herb” Fortier and Gary M. Fortier both of Brockton; Peter P. Fortier of Bellingham, MA and James E. Fortier of E. Bridgewater.He also leaves 11 grandchildren and a great granddaughterMr. Fortier is survived by two brothers Charles Fortier of Newport, RI and Leslie Fortier of Halifax; one sister Lorraine Perry of Taunton.Many nieces and nephewsHe was the brother of the late Elsie Barnes and Eleanor Robinson
