Giovanna (DeMagistris) DiNapoli of Somerville, age 76, died on Saturday, November 24. Born and raised in Candida, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Luigia (Pascucci) DeMagistris. Giovanna loved her job as a seamstress, and worked in many factories in Boston over the years. Our mother had a generous heart and would go without to ensure others were taken care of.
Giovanna was the beloved wife of Antonio DiNapoli. She was the devoted mother of Adriana Sorrentino, Carla DiNapoli, and Anthony DiNapoli, and the loving grandmother of Stephanie DiNapoli. Giovanna was the dear sister of Maria Spada and her husband Renzo, and the late Nicola DeMagistris, his wife Sandra, and Ralph DeMagistris. She was the sister-in-law of Valerie DeMagistris, and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and beloved dog Bowie.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, on Saturday, December 1 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted and interment will be private.
