Residence 30 Lebaron St., Fall River, MA. Died Thursday at Kimwell Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Fall River, MA. Son of the late Albert Freitas and the late Elisa (Castro) Freitas. He was a life long resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he was a Construction Worker for Local #610 of the Laborers Union for over 50 years. He loved music. He was a member of the VFW; Rudolph Sousa Post of the American Portuguese War Veterans,where he was a Past Commander; the American Legion; and a life member of the DAV. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by Two Daughters: Cynthia Freitas of Fall River, MA and Kathleen Gude of Fall River, MA. Two Brothers: Abel Freitas of Somerset, MA and Anthony Freitas of Somerset, MA. One Sister: Eulalia “Lolly” Soares of Somerset, MA. Father of Cynthia Freitas and her friend Salvador Ruggeiri and Kathleen Gude. Father-in-law of Kervin Gude. Grandfather of Kerri Francoeur, Michelle Turgeon and her fiancé Joseph Francoeur, Jennifer & Paul Turgeon. Grandfather-in-law of Michael Francoeur. Great Grandfather of Elisa Freitas, Preston, Kasey-Lyn, and Jonathan Francoeur. Several nieces and nephews and Several Great nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Celia Souza and Philomena Rezendes.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA. on MONDAY at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church, Pulaski St., Fall River, MA at 9:00 AM. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Calling hours SUNDAY 4-8 P.M.
