Obituary

Charles R. Badzmierowski, Sr., 87, of Bellingham died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Rita J. (Gifford) Badzmierowski who died in 2010.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Marion T. (Brown) Kurzawski.

Mr. Badzmierowski grew up on the south side of Chicago and was a resident of Bellingham since 1955. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Before his retirement, he worked at General Motors in Framingham for over 40 years where he received many awards for his work and inventions. He also served part-time on the Bellingham Police Department and had many other part-time jobs to support his family.

Mr. Badzmierowski had a great sense of humor, was a longtime coach for youth sports in Bellingham and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. He was an active parishioner at both St. Brendan Parish and formerly St. Blaise Church.

He is survived by his children, Charles, Jr. of Wolfeboro, NH, Theresa Nogueira of Milford, William of St. Petersburg, FL, Joseph of Medford, John of Burrillville, RI, Kathleen Aicardi of Mendon and Robert of Uxbridge. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his step-brother Michael Badzmierowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Friday, November 30 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan Church, 382 Hartford Ave. in Bellingham at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
