Sara “Sally” Joyce Conley Mullis Saxton, 70, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Mrs. Saxton will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Joel Gandy, Tim Mosley, Shawn Mullis, Dustin Hobbs, Kirk Whiddon and Bobby Blanchard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Saxton, Dan Richardson and Joel Blanchett.
Born August 27, 1948 in Tift County, Mrs. Saxton was the daughter of the late Clyde Thomas Conley and Gladys Louise Conger Conley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Earl Mullis; one daughter, Connie Lynn Mullis; her twin sister, Mary Lois "Sukie" Conley; one brother, James Conley; and two half-brothers, Rayford Jaques and Pete Jaques . She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing, crotcheting and crafts.
Mrs. Saxton is survived by her husband, Kenneth Douglas “Doug” Saxton of Tifton; her children and their spouses, Mike Mullis, Raymond and Sharon Mullis and Randall and Ann Mullis, all of Tifton; her siblings, Ruby Lee Scarberry of Brookfield, Edward “Bud” Conley of Tifton and Nancy “Bebop” Griffin of Berrien County; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her three puppies that she loved; and her special friends at dialysis.
