Of St. Paul, Minnesota
Passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 following a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Inga Furrer; sister, Doris; brothers, Donald, Gene, Samuel, Robert. She is survived by her devoted twin brothers, Paul (Judy) and Floyd (Marilyn); and many nieces and nephews. Cheryl was a graduate of Johnson High, St. Paul, MN, Class of 1963 and Mankato State, obtaining a teaching degree. She loved her second and third grade students, but went on to become a Lobbyist for the MEA and NEA. She loved politics and helped on many campaigns, becoming well known at the Capital and around St. Paul. Cheryl was an extremely active Democrat and helped Bill Clinton become President. For her services, she was invited and attended the Clinton Presidential Ball. Cheryl had the gift of singing, and in 1969 went on a European Tour with the Minneapolis Choralaires. She enjoyed travel, music, the arts, and volunteer work abroad. She was a collector of dolls, including paper dolls, and loved everything to do with clothes, shoes and jewelry. Cheryl was very independent, was a woman’s advocate and truly loved to travel and share life with her friends. Memorial Service will be celebrated at 6:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2019 at ST. MARK’S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2499 N. Helen St., North St. Paul, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM prior to the Service at the church. Dinner will be served following the Service at the church. Her remains will be scattered in Lake Carlos. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
