Roland R. Lamarre, 79, of Dartmouth died Wednesday December 14, 2005 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a long illness. He was the husband of Marion H. (Crapo) Lamarre; they had been married for 52 years.
Born in Acushnet, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church
Mr. Lamarre was formerly employed as a quality control inspector for B.L.H. Electronics in Waltham until his retirement in 1988.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth Lamarre and his wife Mary Ann, and Michael Lamarre and his wife Jane, all of Dartmouth; two daughters, Suzanne Brooks and Jeannine Winterson and her husband Kristofer, all of Dartmouth; a brother, Arthur Lamarre of Hillmar, CA; two sisters, Yvonne Desrosiers of Acushnet and Irene Kenworthy of Fairhaven; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Brooks-White, Scott Brooks II, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jack, and Nina Lamarre, and Abigail and Patrick Winterson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday December 19, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, Slocum Rd., Dartmouth at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday December 18, 2005 from 3-7 PM. Burial will be in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
