Obituary


OXFORD-James P. Chiras, 65, died Thursday, December 15 in UMASS Memorial Hospital after a struggle with Multiple Myeloma. He leaves his wife of 32 years, Nancy L. (Schulze) Chiras, two daughters, Lynn M. Wiatrowski and her husband Fred of Pittsburgh, PA and Ann L. Chiras of Nashua, NH, a brother, Louis Chiras of Worcester, a sister Louise, wife of William Roberts of Worcester, several nephews and nieces. A brother Robert Chiras predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, son of Louis and Antoinette (Gricevicius) Chiras and served in the United States Army. Mr. Chiras worked for Sure Management for 10 years retiring in 2005 due to illness and previously worked for Whipple Construction Co. for 27 years. He loved woodworking and gardening.

Calling hours will be Saturday, December 17 from 6 until 8 PM in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
