Obituary


William M. “Bill” Taro, Jr. age 57 of West Bridgewater, died Friday, November 16, 2018 at South Shore Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Boston, a son of the late Carolyn (Sullivan) Taro-Briggs and William M. Taro, Sr.

Raised in Brockton, Bill was a 1979 graduate of Brockton High School. For several years he had worked at the former Hills Department Store in Canton. He had lived in West Bridgewater for the past 9 years, previously residing in Port St. Lucie, Florida and Brockton.

Bill was a car enthusiast, loved music and movies. He had been very active in his residential community and JOY, the West Bridgewater Council on Aging. He will be remembered as a quiet and shy man who loved all animals, especially dogs.

He is survived by his two sisters, Susan Silvia and her husband Michael of Brockton and Lynn Ameno and her husband Patrick of N. Providence, formerly of West Bridgewater. He is also survived by a niece Elizabeth Portal, a nephew Stephen Ameno and great niece Emily Portal as well as cousins Janice and Mark Cordoba.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte. 123), Brockton on Sunday, November 25, 2018 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Bill’s name to the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Mass, 1300 W. Elm St Ext, Brockton, MA 02301.
