Obituary

Mr. Chavannes Valentin of Boston passed away on November 14, 2018.
Chavannes Valentin was born to loving Parents Chabaril “Charles” Valentin and Odecile Moise on December 22, 1949 in Roche-a-Bateau Aux Cayes, Haiti. He immigrated to the United States in 1981 with one goal in mind, which was to provide for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and watching wrestling, like he was an active participant. Throughout his adult life, he held various jobs and before he became ill, he worked as an entrepreneur. In January of 2008, he was forced into retirement, when his debilitating illness left him wheelchair bound. Although his illness took a physical toll on him, his tenacity for life was unparallel. He held many roles in his lifetime, but the role he was most proud was being a father. He prides himself on being the father of six children: Sondy Valentin, Nadia Valentin, Evelyne Valentin, Derlyne Valentin, Demetry Valentin and Yasmine Valentin. He is deeply mourned by a long list of relatives in the United States and abroad. He is survived by his four siblings: Marie Solange Valentin, Marie Lourde Valentin and Mignonne Francoise Valentin and Jean “Cika” Valentin. He was a grandfather to Chris, Brian, Kara, Naya, Fortuna, Naythan, Gabriella, Abigail and Kayden. He left behind a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. Those who are most affected by his passing include his nieces: Fabienne Valentin and Danielle Thomas, his nephews: Charlot Valentin, Peter Valentin, Tyson Valentin, Hans Thomas, Kendy Nazaire, Faraude Vilerson Valentin and many more. He will be sorely missed by cousins: Joseph Alcindor and children, Jessie Sylvestre and children, Mirlande Alcindor and children, Maude Franklin and children, Mireille Breton and children, Patrick Lefevre and children, Marie-Carmelle Alerte and children, Clarine Lefevre and children, Marie Chantal Lefevre, Wernz Lefevre and children, Jean-Rober Lefevre and children, Michelle Ducheine and children and many more.
The family will receive visitors at the First Hatian Baptist Church, 397 Blue Hill Ave., Boston on Friday, November 23 from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the First Haitian Baptist Church on Saturday, November 24th at 9 am.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Hyde Park.
May Chavannes gentle soul rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.
