Elise Magnusson
Of Tewksbury

Elise Magnusson, of Tewksbury, went Home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2018.

Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on January 24, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Lillian Carabin.

Elise has been a resident of the U.S. for 64 years having lived in Everett, Malden, West Virginia, Wilmington, settling in Tewksbury in 1975.

Elise is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Carney) and her husband, Joseph Chevalier of Dracut, and LaShanta Magnusson of Tewksbury. Two granddaughters, Lyndsay (Chevalier) and her husband, Robert Shepard, and Kelsye Chevalier all of Dracut. Two grandsons, Ryan Magnusson and Nicholas Noke of Tewksbury. A special niece, Valerie Elise Peterson of Glace Bay. A great-granddaughter, Quinn Elise Sheppard of Dracut, and LaShanta’s boyfriend, David Perkins of Woburn.
She is also survived by a brother, Louis (Buddy) Carabin, and three sisters, Victorine Wadden, Helen Nicholson, and Pearl Moulaison, all of Cape Breton, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Valerie Carabin and Joyce Boutlier, and a brother, Lloyd.

Elise attended the Lawrence Street Church in Lowell and the Chelmsford Bible Church in Chelmsford.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing, searching for treasures at yard sales, and gardening.

For 40 years she ran a family day care center in her home, loving and caring for countless children during that time. “Leesie” was always delighted when children she had cared for visited as they grew, and included her in the special times in their lives.
Before her day care business, Elise worked in the restaurant industry, managing the Donut Village in Tewksbury and Winston’s Coffee Shop in Wilmington before owning the Colonial Kitchen in Burlington with her sister, Pearl.

Elise made many friends throughout her life and they all held a special place in her heart.

It being her wish, there are no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to her memorial service at Lawrence Street Church, 1199 Lawrence Street, Lowell, MA at 10 AM, Monday, November 19, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elise’s name may be made to Tree of Life Ministry, P.O. Box 149, Mission, SD 55575-0149
