Groton, CT – Marie F. (Lavache) Carder, 99, of Groton, CT formerly of Drift Road, Westport died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Fairview Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the widow of Nathaniel S. Carder.
She was born in Somerville, MA, daughter of the late Daniel L. and Josephine M. (Smith) Lavache, and grew up in Roslindale as a young girl, moving to Groton, Ct in 1985 after living in Westport for close to 40 years. Mrs. Carder was a talented needle worker, where she had national crewel work exhibits. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford and at Groton Naval Base, Groton, CT.
She is survived by a brother: Daniel E. Lavache of Owings Mills, MD; a sister: Sylvia M. Barnes of Groton, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Paul D. Lavache and Victor C. Lavache.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
