Obituary

LUDLOW ~ Ronald R. “Ron” Beaulieu, Sr., 74, of Ludlow, was Called Safely Home on Monday, November 12, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on September 22, 1944, a beloved son of the late Raymond E. and Rita C. (Barthelette) Beaulieu. He was raised in Holyoke and had lived in Florence before returning to Holyoke. In 1984, he moved to Ludlow where he lived for the remainder of his life. Ron was employed for over 30 years for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Department and retired as a Foreman in 2002. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council No. 69 in Chicopee and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ron was a car guy through and through and loved to race his Chevy Nova II at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, NY. He loved to go fast and enjoyed watching NASCAR and driving all over New England to many car shows. Never a quiet guy, Ron loved spending time with his family and his many friends. Ron leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Linda I. (McClain) Beaulieu. They were married on October 16, 1965 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield and were blessed with over 53 years of happiness together. He also leaves his three loving children, Ronald R. Beaulieu, Jr. and his wife, Legna, of Chicopee, Lori A. Morris and her husband, Martin, of Monson and Eric T. Beaulieu and his wife, Laura, of Westfield; his seven cherished grandchildren who will all miss their “Grampy”, Andrew and Nicholas Beaulieu, Lino Mora, Geoff Morris and his fiancée, Victoria Galica, Kimberly Morris, and Jack and Grace Beaulieu; his cherished great-granddaughter, Lisabella Beaulieu; his dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daniel McClain of Florida, Earl McClain and his wife, Elsie, of Holyoke, Robert McClain and his wife, Jeanne, of Chicopee, Helen Smus and her husband, John, of Chicopee and Katherine Breault and Loretta Sopet, both of Agawam; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Beaulieu and McClain families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his dear sister, Jeanne Mercure; and his dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the McClain family. His family will receive friends on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. At Ron’s request, his funeral and burial will be private for his family. His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
