Obituary

Michael S. Cembalisty, 63, of New Bedford died November 11, 2018 unexpectedly at home.

Born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Henry S. and Apolonia M. "Pauline" (Soltys) Cembalisty, he lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dighton and Taunton before moving to New Bedford.

He served 5 years at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a place he held close to his heart his whole life.

After separating from the Air Force with Honorable Mention, Michael was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in multiple positions for over 30 years until his retirement.

Mr. Cembalisty found enjoyment most significantly through gatherings with his family, friends and colleagues.

Michael would encourage you all to follow your dreams.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Andrew Cembalisty of Providence and Alexander Cembalisty of Dighton; his former wife, Alison (Sousa) Cembalisty of Dighton; a brother, Richard Cembalisty and his wife Clara of Rochester, NH; 2 nieces and a nephew.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, November 16th at 8:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Bernard’s Church, 30 South Main Street, Assonet at 10 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, November 15th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Veterans Transition House, 20 Willis St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
