Paula Kohler Pintauro, age 69, of 2 Starlight Lane, North Stonington, died peacefully early Monday morning at her home with her family by her side.
Paula was born in New York, NY on June 16, 1933 the daughter of Charles F. and Hilda (Schmidt) Kohler. She earned her associates degree in Library Science from Mohegan Community College.
A resident of North Stonington for 39 years, she was an active member of St. Thomas More Church where she served as eucharistic minister, Lector, and community leader. She participated in every summer yard sale and fall holiday bazaar.
Paula was also an avid reader. She devoted over 15 years to the Wheeler Library beginning as a volunteer and eventually being named the library’s Director serving in that capacity until her retirement in 1990.
She was married to Arthur Victor Pintauro in New York City on January 9, 1955. In addition to her husband, Paula leaves four children, Dianne E. Cooper of Groton, Carla A. Pintauro of Gales Ferry, Donna J. Kaehler of No. Smithfield, RI, and Arthur C. Pintauro of Ft. Collins, CO, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Theriault.
Paula’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, North Stonington on Thursday at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pawcatuck.
