Obituary

Wayland- Sandra Lee (McNeill) Curtis, 67, died peacefully surrounded by family on November 8th, 2018 at the Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. She was born September 11th, 1951 to the late A. Elliott and Phyllis (Thorpe) McNeill. Sandy received a Bachelor’s Degree from North Adams College and worked hard at many careers while living and raising a family in Wayland including teaching middle school English in Natick, Director of the Wayland Town Pool, and she continued to work as administrative assistant of facilities at St. Marks School until her sudden illness. Sandy was an avid reader of novels and prose who could be found at the library more often than home. She had an eye for fashion, with carefully selected shoes, scarves and hats and was admired for her ability to sew everything from quilts to her own clothes. Sandy will especially be remembered for her contagious humor and she was sure to make you laugh during any conversation. Her quick wit and hilarious stories made an impression on everyone she met. She loved her Chihuahuas, the sunny beaches of Cape Cod, and gardening in her own backyard. Her life was filled with happiness and joy, and most of all she loved her family. Sandy will be deeply missed and thought of fondly for her generosity, kind heart and warmth she spread with her laughter. She is survived by her two daughters, Jaclyn Curtis of Springfield, and Jaime Curtis of Milford; 4 sisters Gail McNeill, Kim McNeill, Robin Cunningham, and Bonnie Tracy, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday November 14th, 2018 from 3:00pm to 6:15pm at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, followed by a funeral home service at 6:30pm. A private burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
