Michael E. Toland, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of Virginia (King) Toland, passed away at his home on Monday morning, November 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

Born on October 9, 1945, and raised in both Charlestown and South Boston, he was the son of the late Dennis E. and Margaret (Steeves) Toland. Michael was an expert in the securities industry, specializing in consumer protection and compliance for Fidelity, New England Securities and the NASD for many years. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed traveling with his wife, Ginny, and his three children, visiting more than 40 National Parks and all 50 states. Michael was an avid reader and loved to study WWII and Civil War history. He was a big fan of all of the Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox – a passion he shared with his wife and children – and felt blessed to celebrate many recent championships. Above all, Michael was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
