John K. Farrell, Sr., age 71, of San Antonio TX, formerly of Brockton, died October 22, 2018 at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. John was the devoted husband for 38 years of the late Sandra A. (Alger) Farrell. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Keveney) Farrell. He was raised and educated in East Bridgewater and was a 1967 graduate of East Bridgewater High School. On September 8, 1971, he graduated as class president from the licensed practical nursing program of Southeastern Regional Technical Institute.
John was a warm and compassionate person. He was employed as a Nurse at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton for over 28 years. A devout Catholic, he was a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher at St. Edith Stein Church from 1978-2008. He was proud of the legacy of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling and staying in touch with friends and family.
John is survived by his children, John Farrell, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Fairhaven, Patrick Farrell of Brockton and Allison Lincourt and her husband Cory of Texas; nine grandchildren Kaitlyn, Grace, Gabrielle, Hannah, Lily, Nora, Saoirse, Tyler and Mason; a sister Maureen Thompson Cullinane of Taunton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was the brother of the late George Farrell.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday November 16, 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday November 17 at 8am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9am. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
