LIMINGTON - Joan Wenglarz, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 30, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence in Portland, Maine of natural causes.
She was born in New York on February 7, 1932, and raised in a Catholic orphanage.
In the mid 1960’s, she was “adopted” into the family of Albert and Suzanne Earle, and into the family of God, in Newark, NJ.
She worked as a caregiver at Forest Hill Fellowship Home, a residence for the elderly. After its closing, she moved to Maine with the Earles and continued as a caregiver for an elderly woman in Cornish, ME. She also attended Kezar Falls Assembly of God in Kezar Falls, ME.
Aunt Joanie will always be remembered as loving, generous, and compassionate. Her love for God, children, animals, family, and the elderly was very evident. She took care of both Albert and Suzanne Earle in their last days, and has cared for numerous members of their family. In her early adult years, you could find her shopping in Macy’s in NY. Later in life, she could be found rocking a baby to sleep or laughing with her nieces and nephews. She loved to laugh and her laugh was infectious. She was well-loved and will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Lodge in Limington, Maine on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 11 am.
