Obituary

Morris A. Cocco, a Lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on November 1, 2018. He was 93 years old.

Morris was a United States Navy Veteran during World War II. He was in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, Invasion of Peleliu, Invasion of Okinawa, and awarded 4 Bronze Stars and the Philippines Liberation Medal. Morris was a longtime employee for the City of Malden. He worked as a department head in code enforcement for the Malden Housing. Morris was a late member of the Malden VFW, Post 639 and also enjoyed reading and cooking.

Morris was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Colameta) Cocco. He was the loving father of Anthony Cocco of Beverly, Stephen Cocco and his wife Marcela of AZ, Marie Cocco and her husband Thomas Burrows of VA and Susan Cocco of CT. Morris was the dear brother of Vincent Cocco and his late wife Gilda of Wakefield and Mary Smeglin of Malden. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main St., Malden, on Tuesday Nov. 6th at 10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, at 11AM. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 4-7PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
