Barbara Joyce Gardner, 83, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” Gardner. They had been married for sixty-two years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Gladys (Crompton) Paulhus. She had worked as the secretary to the Superintendent of the Smithfield School Department for thirty-four years before her retirement. She had also been a member of the Rhode Island Association of School Business Officials for many years. Barbara also loved spending time in her garden, tending to her plants, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lori D. Aubin and her husband, Michael of Scituate, as well as her three beloved grandchildren: Kevin, Amie, and Brian.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Greenville Baptist Church, 582 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-7 pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
