DUDLEY – Barbara A. (Foskett) Dunham, 90, of 43 Ramshorn Road, died Monday, Dec. 12, in Radius Healthcare, Southbridge. Her husband of 58 years, Andrew L. Dunham, died in 1995.
She leaves 2 daughters, Marilyn L. Labbe and her husband Bernard of Moosup, CT, and Althea J. Clemence and her husband Richmond of Southbridge; a sister, Sylvia Sloat of Wallingford, CT; 5 grandchildren, James Labbe and his wife Gina, Michael Labbe and his wife Lisa, Randall Clemence and his wife Pamela, Pamela Leaming and her husband Patrick, and Barry Clemence and his wife Joyce; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was born on May 4, 1915, in Worcester and raised in Cheshire, CT, a daughter of Harrison and Florence (Durkee) Foskett, and lived in Dudley since 1934. She graduated from Lewis High School in Southington, CT, in 1934.
Mrs. Dunham worked in the housekeeping department at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge before retiring in 1980. Previously, she worked in the cafeteria at Nichols College for 15 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dudley and served in many capacities including head deacon, head of the ushers, and member of the church council. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Benevolent Society. She was active in the grange since 1939. She belonged to Dudley Grange P. of H. #163, the Bay Path Pomona Grange #98, the Mass. State Grange and the National Grange.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Dec.15, at noon in the First Congregational Church of Dudley, 135 Center Road. Burial will be in Corbin Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11:30 AM Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
