New Bedford – John S. Flores, Jr., 86, of Chace Road, East Freetown died unexpectedly, Monday, December 12, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy G. (Carr) Flores.
He was born in Little Compton, RI, son of the late John S. and Mary (Fontes) Flores and had resided in East Freetown for the past 45 years. Prior to his retirement he worked at Stillwater Manufacturing Company, East Freetown for many years and also worked as a bus monitor for Tremblay Bus Company in New Bedford. He was communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Bedford and a former communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. Mr. Flores was a member of the Freetown Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed country fairs and horse pulls in the New England area.
He is survived by a son: James M. Flores and his wife Wendy of East Freetown; a sister: Eleanor Simons of Little Compton; 2 grandchildren: Jestyn J. Flores of Goodyear, AZ and Krysta Dae Flores of Aliso Viejo, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late John T. Flores and brother of the late Carlton Flores.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, December 15, 2005 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
