Ernest J. Corey
Manchester– Ernest J. "Jim" Corey, 84, died October 27, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Jamaica Plain, MA., on April 18, 1934 the son of William and Lillian (Montgomery) Corey.
He served his country in the United States Marines Corps.
He graduated from Newbury College in Brookline, MA.
He held membership in the Merrill Follansbee American Legion Post 37 in Hooksett.
Prior to his retirement he was a truck driver for New Penn., and was a member of the local Teamsters in Massachusetts.
He was proud of his 35 years of sobriety with Bill Wilson.
Family members include his wife of 33 years, Linda (King) Corey of Manchester, his 4 daughters, Diane Ayala of Jamaica Plain, MA., Karen Chacon of Boston, MA., Deborah Corey of Jamaica Plain, MA., Doreen Quintanilla and her husband, Arnold of Stoughton, MA., 1 son, Kevin Corey and his wife, Vicki of Bascoble, WI., 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 stepsons, John Clancy and his wife, Karen of Weymouth, MA., Donald Clancy and his wife, Stephanie of California, 2 brothers, Charles Corey, Robert Corey of Florida, 2 daughters in law, Jane Corey of Hyde Park, MA., Angela Corey, Leominster, MA.
He was predeceased by 2 sons, Michael Corey, Mark Corey, 3 sisters, Mary Webber, Ruth Maloney, Susan Corey and 2 brothers, David Corey and Richard Corey.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm in J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
Prayer services and military honors will take place at 1pm following calling hours in NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
