Obituary

Richard J. Croke 89, of Franklin, died peacefully, at home Sunday Oct. 28, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn T. (Earley) Croke, who died in 2016.

Born April 20, 1929 in the Bronx, New York a son of the late Richard A. and Margaret (McInerney) Croke, he was a former resident of Medfield, before moving to Franklin in 1987.

He was raised and educated in the Bronx and was a graduate of the City College of New York. He continued his education at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute where he received his Master’s degree in chemical engineering. He worked for the M.W. Kellogg Limited and Lummus Corporation and retired from Stone & Webster Engineering.

Richard enjoyed traveling, walking and playing tennis. He attended the Franklin Senior Center, where he was a member of the Thursday morning breakfast group and the discussion group.

He is survived by his children, Richard M. “Rick” Croke and his wife Tina of Lake Luzerne, New York and Kerri A. Bertone and her partner Paul Danello of Franklin, a sister Rita Curran of Wantaugh, Long Island, New York. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Emily T. and Joseph M. Bertone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Sat. Nov. 3rd, at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 1-4PM.

His interment will be held privately.
