Ernest W. Cyr, age 82, passed away on Oct. 24, 2018 at Wingate of South Hadley. He was born on Dec. 8, 1935 in Westfield, a son of the late Joseph and Davina (Stewert) Cyr. Ernest worked as a truck driver for Pennsylvania Truck Line for over 20 years before he retired. He is predeceased by his wife Helen (White) Cyr who passed away 2008. He is survived by 4 sons, Kenneth Cyr and his wife Laurie of Chicopee, Edward Cyr of Springfield, Donald Cyr and his wife Laurie Ann of Belchertown and Ernest Cyr Jr of Brockton, MA; 2 daughters Debbie Dwight and her Fiance Christopher Chouinard of South Hadley and Linda Cyr of Ludlow, 2 sisters Linda Beyers and her husband Jerry of Westfield and Cathy Norman and her husband Charles of Tulsa, OK; his brother-in-law Fred Songeny of Springfield;13 grandchildren, Robert, Katherine, Ashley, Tyler, Colby, Ryan, Dylan, Cassidy, James, Eric, Amanda and Joseph and Joe; 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 3 brothers, Paul David and Charles Cyr and by his sister Betty Bayless. The family would like to thank the Staff at Wingate of South Hadley for the special care they had given him during his stay. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Memorial Prayer Service at 1:00 PM.
